Would like to know the vintage and what a cabinet like this was used for!
This cabinet was used in my mother in law's spare bedroom as a dresser for many years. I would like to know if this is really just a dresser or if it was intended originally for another purpose. Someone told me it was a pie safe...but it does not have any type of venting for cooling so I don't think that's what it is. Any ideas what this might be?
It's a great piece even if it is sideways. The cats do like get in the photo sessions. Sorry I am not sure what it is.
Depending on the drawer size (if a bit larger than 11 1/2 X 14-)-the shallow pull outs could be for the old vintage size sheet music, and just random drawers for smaller song books or folios. c.1900-1919
