A thrift shop find, along with the other tin. This will be put to use in my hobby room. There has been a padlock at some point, as there is a latch on the front. This is quite large, too. I have no idea what was in it when it was new - if anything at all.
1930s? 1940s? 1890s? No idea.

Oh! so fine find, Efe! Condition is amazing, as graphics are!
I'd think old, as 1890 :-) But it is not my area of expertize, lol.
kyratango, thanks! The tin is more beat up than it looks on the photos, but still an interesting find for me.
valentino97 - I also have not seen one like this, and for a buck and a half I could not pass it by, :)
A Beauty ! love tins .. this is like Kyratango say about 1890's . Probably held biscuits or sweets . is there no information on the base??
I'd gladly own this one . ( I have had several collections of tins through my life from when I was a tiny kid I only have a small one now ( 200 or so ) and don't buy them any more . I have them on display but as my glass increases the shelf space for tins becomes more cramped.
osmarty - Nothing at all embossed/written on it other than the location names. I bought it in a very small local thrift shop. Apparently someone died and left a collection of tins. This one and the other one I have posted were the most interesting. I paid maybe 2 bucks for both. I like "stuff" because it makes me feel comfortable. :-) I have porcelain, ceramics, glass and other odds and ends. I am a jewelry junkie and a flea market hound. Much of it goes up for sale on a local internet site. Some of it I take to trade in shops ( no money needed!) and return with stuff I can use.
OOPS - OZMARTY....
I wish i could trade with shops here .. I have a house rule that my collecting habit must be self funding so i can only spend as much as I sell .. this can lead to withdrawal symptoms when nothing is selling. : )
I have only posted one of my tins on CW
