    (439 items)

Update, thanks to BelleEpoque, Kiwipaul and Jewels1900 who suggested made by Liberty!

Only mark is a needle etched number on the back : 6593

Mixed metals: moonstone mount, hinge and C clasp are yellow gold!
I don't know if the enamelled brooch is silver, because though very dirty it is not tarnished at all...
    Size is 6/8" by 5/8" (1.9 x 1.6cm),
    moonstone is 8/16" by 5/16" (1.3 x 0.85cm).

Hoping the caracteristic dented setting and decor will help my dear A&C specialists for id :-)

Hi Kyra, it is certainly interesting, but I can't identify it, maybe Liberty & Co? Still a mystery to me.

Hi, Could it be a Chinese brooch? Because I found this:

Thank you Agram for your visit and suggestion, but I can't see any similarity with the piece in the link you posted.

Thank you Roycroft! I enjoyed viewing your "lost in the '50"! Most was unknown to me, not because of my age but not my culture ;-)
The view-master! I had one, and still remember the smell of the plastic and views, lol

Hey Kyra, what sort of cat is your current avatar?

Is it real? Looks unusual and interesting.

One of our cats is a Norwegian Forest Cat, she is a big girl, but this one looks huge!
    14. kyratango kyratango, 9 years ago
Hi Paul! It is a savage cat, Google for Manul or Pallas cat ^^
    15. kyratango kyratango, 9 years ago
Oops, word didn't came to mind... WILD CAT :-)

      Hi Kyra

Sorry, I don't know who this is by. But Paul is right re a possibility of Liberty for 2 reasons. The gold pin is indicated of them + they made little brooches like this.

It's one you really want to hold to get a feel for.
    17. kyratango kyratango, 9 years ago
Jewels1900! Thank you for your opinion of beeing possibly Liberty :-)

The pin is white, only the hinge, C clasp and prongs are yellow gold.
I think it will stay as mystery until I find other similar identified :-)

The Jean's Wager brooch was sold as Rhoda Wager ( CIRCLE OF) !
Those seller's terms are very important for someone who wants a piece authenticaly made BY the maker :-)

Many thanks to all the lovers, Jean, Don, SophieLady, Efe, Trey and Valentino!
      I love you too ;-D

Hi Kyra, out of curiosity what does Circle of 'mean?
    19. kyratango kyratango, 9 years ago
Hi Jean, "circle of" means, in seller's opinion, a work by an unidentified artist working in the artist’s style and during the period of the artist’s life.

The very codified terms used in art selling world can be exempled here :

Hi Kyra, I also said Liberty since your first post... Also Liberty pieces often have a number on the back... It is so pretty.
    22. kyratango kyratango, 9 years ago
Hi BelleEpoque! Indeed you did! In First :-)
It is really a charming brooch, thank you so much for your contribution :-D
    23. Jewels1900 Jewels1900, 9 years ago
If the pin is not gold, then it may not be Liberty. I'll keep it in mind when I'm checking out my books. Some times things sort themselves out in my mind very randomly.

It's got it's own little pattern that I can identify if I find it.
