This rare find is from Stillwater, OK! From my research I've identified this piece as a Signed Art Deco Desk Lamp, "The Cellist", from J.B. Hirsch with John Ruhl's signature as well. The cello player has a celluloid or ivorine face with the balance of the figure polychrome or possibly bronze. This lamp is very heavy and measures 17" tall from the top of shade to base of lamp. The base measures 8.5" wide. The lamp is in working order and in more than good condition. Is there anything else you can tell me about this gem of a lamp? Any help you may give would be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance for your time and consideration!

Okiepicker 81,
The lamp it cool, however the cellist is missing his bow, it is rare to find them with the bow.

Russell, thanks I hadn't noticed the bow missing. Was the bow something that was removable?
I own this lamp, it belonged to an Aunt from time of purchase when new.
The Cellist has his bow. Hurray ! I have listed on e-bay due to college tuition.
Thank you for all the wonderful info. I looked up the history and now I know.
Thank you.
