It's been some time since my last post. A 6 month old...new job and move across the county takes up a lot of time. Even with all that, I was able to snag a few things this summer. The stand has a bit of rust, but I plan on hiding it well with wooden crates (1 is in the mail now). I will not fill with bottles, rather use them as shadow boxes for my small (but growing) smalls collection. The 9 incher Celluloid just came today...20% book and in excellent shape. It will not stay on the rack...need to find a happy home for it. The ruler and pencil kit is also in nice shape but missing 2 of the 6 pieces inside. I'm on the hunt to complete the set. Lastly, the bottle was unexpectedly given to me recently while covering a story for work. I was interviewing a woman whose building collapsed during a terrible thunder storm/tornado. She sold industrial AC units and she had a Westinghouse sign in the front. I told her I was a new Coke collector and asked if she ever carried Coca Cola machines?...she said no...then said I'll be right back. She came back with this bottle and told me it's been sitting in her fridge at work for 15 years. She cautioned me not to drink it and said "it's yours." She didn't remember where it came from or any more about it. It was a kind gesture...especially coming from someone who has to rebuild their business dwelling. I'll gladly display it! Hope everyone is well! Enjoy fall!
