All I could find out so far is that it was made between 1899 and 1905 by the Berky and gay company (Grand Rapids Michigan) being that it has the red triangle label GRM. As to who did the carving I'm not sure. Any additional information on this piece would be useful and very much appreciated thank you for your time.
Very nice piece you have here. I believe your piece is prior to 1900. Here's some good Berkey & Gay history that might help you out.

I wonder if you found the same article I did as I researched my own mystery piece with the triangle sticker saying "GRM". That sticker doesn't seem to eliminate other manufacturers but does narrow down the production period. Here is the pertinent quote along with a link to the article. "The first effort to positively identify Grand Rapids furniture as the genuine article began in 1899 when the FMA developed the red triangular trademark known as the “Grand Rapids Made” logo. This mark appeared on every piece of furniture made by FMA members from 1899 to 1913." I have the GRM sticker on my piece but not the Berkey & Gay sticker, so now I must figure out whether it's been removed or was never there to begin with. Have you found out any more about your piece?
