Here's another showcase hold out from Salvation who's white sticker was half price today. I'm not a glass expert and since it's unsigned I really have no clue. The beautiful graduated blue ruffle top reminds me of Fenton but the applied feet look exactly like the ones on my Harrach cracked egg vase. Two of the feet may have been chipped and ground as they have a frosted finish on the tip or maybe it's just so it sits flat. No other damage otherwise. So this is open for discussion. I think I did pretty well holding out for this bargain as usual. -Mike-

Oh, some kid working at gw told me once ... A new chip will look frosted as opposed to clear ... ???

I don't know about that eye maybe on frosted or satin glass. These definitely look and feel ground flat. Not really noticeable when it stands upright so I'm OK with it. :)

Yeah, just something that someone told me once, then I chipped a vase and sure enough it was frosted at the chip ...

Our op shops rarely have half price days, and if they do it's to clear out old copies of The Da Vinci Code and chipped coffee mugs. Something like this would not last a day!! I think you are brave hanging out for a half price sale for something like this.

Thanks Eye, Katherine and Karen :)..... yes, our shops implement various systems for clearing out the old to make way for the new. It's usually one week after the piece is put out so they cycle through a color system day by day. Picking one color a day to discount. My connections sometime enable me get around even that system though. ;)

What a beauty Mike. Love that ruffled top. Do you know if it's uranium glass?
    11. mikelv85 mikelv85, 9 years ago
Thanks so much Fran :)...Not sure about the Uranium glass though. No UV light handy to check it. I should really pick one up. I do have a black light poster bulb but it just doesn't seem to work the same.
