This is a small Irish decanter, with a mould blown fluted base and a press moulded bullseye stopper. It has a etched meander with foliage on three sides and word WHISKEY etched on the other. Made circa. 1780-1790.
I don't know where this was made and it doesn't seem to have differentiating characteristics that developed between the various Irish glasshouses later on.
Technically it is not a decanter but a spirit bottle, but that only means something to nerds like me, so I will stick to decanter.
