I came across some dolls that belonged to my mother. This one, in particular, had a newspaper article packed with it and I believe it to an original Dionne Doll by Madame Alexander made in 1936. It is in poor condition as you can see by the pictures and the wig is glued on top of a painted (hair like) head and the body is jointed. It is a wooden doll with sleepy eyes that still work. Am I correct and if not, do you have more information on it?
She is made of composition and is not in poor condition actually has held up well and would be a easy repair . Does she have braids ? Look under hair by chance she has name of a quint . Many of Alexanders quints were marked as Dionne quints or dresses had tags with their names on them . How tall is she . Very nice doll !
I would like to see her face better and also standing so I can see shape of legs when upright :-)
Thanks for your reply. I looked under the wig and I could not see a name but the glue from the wig was stuck on parts of the scalp. I measured her and she is 19" tall. I also took two more pictures of her. How do I upload them to this comment?
She is a treasure! Can she stand? If so she maybe a Dionne toddler. I have a 17" tall toddler only marked as Dionne Alexander on back of neck. I believe they came originally with pins that showed their names.
The hair is in ringlets not braids.
Yes, she can stand. Mine only says "Alexander" on the back upper shoulder area.

The wig is definitely synthetic. The pictures is sent show her standing and a close up,of her face with eyes open.
