This just arrived in a filthy state covered eons of grot but it was a bargain so could not pass it up .
I'm fairly certain that this is by Harrach though it is like some by French makers as well ( Galle / Rousseau/ August Jean ) . Perhaps made for the French market.
Circa 1880's .
Difficult to photograph as the surface (once cleaned ) is quite glossy thought the tree trunk handles and squiggly collar have been matted .
The design features a fantastic bird with a snake in its mouth amongst scatterings of tiny flowers the reverse has a tiny insect (Bee) instead of bird surrounded by a different type of small flowers.
4 1/2 " High x a max of 5 1/2 " wide at the handles
