This maple, upholstered rocker belonged to my husband's grandmother. We have never seen one quite like it and are just curious about possible origins. Her furniture was almost exclusively maple wood. Most pieces we have identified as Whitney Furniture circa 1937-40. The seat has springs and most likely re-upholstered (staples underneath), the foam is disintigrating as well. When she travelled from her home to visit my late mother-in-law she always brought this chair with her and took it back. It was her favorite and one of ours as well.
