Antique Men's Cameo Ring

this ring is Gold with I think a tiger eye cameo of a roman soldier maybe. It has sailing ships on the sides with gold fish on all 4 sides of the top. It is really unique and old. We are trying to find out some information about this ring. We are not even sure where it came from but my husband had the ring before we were married 34 years ago. As you can see it has some damage to it, so I assume it has some interesting history. Please let me know if you have any information about this ring.
