I found this clock in Duluth, MN. Superwood was a local wood products manufacturer in Duluth. The company started in 1945 as Superior Wood Products making furniture, then in 1954 changed their name to Superwood and changed their product to a laminated pressboard. Superwood was used by the automotive industry for door panels and backing for visors. Ford Motor Company was the first auto maker to buy Superwood's product in the 1950's, using it for door panels in their Fairlane Sedans. Ford and GM were Superwood's largest customers. Another Superwood product was Pegboard, used in countless garages throughout the country to hang tools. Superwood was bought by Georgia-Pacific in 1986 and in 2012, G-P announced it would close Superwood for good, causing 141 folks to lose their jobs and ended 67 years of one of Duluth's major manufacturers. I'm guessing the clock is from the 60s but not sure. the cover on the front is made of glass so it must be kind of old. Any info would be appreciated.

Kaputs11, I'm happy to bring back memories for you. I know I would love to find something from the refinery from back in the day like a sign or hard hat or something like that. Something from the 50s when it first opened or from Murphy Oil. I never thought I would ever see something from Superwood so I guess anything is possible. I'm sure some old timer in Superior still has his stuff from the refinery and someday I might come across it. I like finding the obscure local stuff that only a few people would ever recognize!
