A pair of Wire Cutters.

The first clamps your cable/wire the second action cuts the rubber casing and the third action pulls the rubber off the wire.
Never seen anything like this and think theyre just fab!
If anyone has any ideas as to its proper known name, age etc I would be most appreciative!

These are wire strippers used for stripping insulation off the ends for electrical work. I do not know the age of these. Many different companies still make and sell this type of stripper today.
I do agree with all the answers above, (for the most part), but the word "Automatic"should preceed wire stripper, as in "Automatic Wire Stripper"! Yours was first patented in the early 1940's. I have a feeling these were designed for fast production work, such as the WWII war effort, but just my opinion. I do not know of this London Company, and do not see much about it on the web. Wire strippers. If it's cutting the wire then you're doing it wrong! You want to make sure you use the proper notch on the insulation stripping side of the tool for the wire gauge thickness you're using. Even so, I imagine the wrong notch would likely only bite into the wire rather than cut it, but that also leaves the wire much more susceptible to breakage later. I have several of the modern versions of these... an indispensable tool!
I also have a modern set of these automatic wire strippers in my tool box. I use them regularly. I bought mine about 25 years ago when I had an auto electric business. Mine look very much like these.
