Hi,
I recently received these and I can not find anything like them online. They are a heavy metal, I believe copper with etched images or phrases. I believe they are all ballantine and we're used for printing advertisements or maybe labels. They are in all in mint condition. Any information would be appreciated so that I can begin my search online. I have no idea what they are called.
Thanks
They look to be printers etching plates to be used for print publications like newspapers, magazines, and sometimes coasters. Very nice pieces you have there. Printer blocks are very hard to find because after use they were usually destroyed and recycled to make new plates.
I actually have one similar from the Piel's Brewery but mine is a wood block with a lead overcoat and the reversed out graphics. The graphics on mine show the brewery's 1950's era mascots "Bert & Harry". Can check them out on my beer collectible website at http://www.brewaf.com/portfolio/piels-beer-print-block/
BrewerianaAficionado,
Thank you for your comment. I definitely will try to do some research on these now hoping that searching under that title will help. I did take a look at your site and it's similar. I appreciate your time and if you are anyone else knows or finds out anything about these a, please let me know. I'll keep you posted .
I still do not see anything like the one's I own. I have interested parties to buy them but I have no idea of value and no comp. I don't want to be taken advantage of or the opposite, give an outrageous price. I'll keep asking around and looking.
