there's a small chip in one of the handles, but oh well... not sure if this is vaseline glass, but it sure does glow green! This one has an H with an A in it on the base. Hazel Atlas [thank you Gillian!].

I'm really not sure if this is vaseline glass. I would call it green depression glass. An excerpt from the CW article on Hazel-Atlas: " Hazel-Atlas really excelled at kitchenware, especially its mixing bowls, butter dishes, and juicers (known as reamers) in the Criss Cross pattern, which was sold from the 1930s through the 1950s in clear crystal, pink, green, and blue. Three-spout measuring cups, some embossed with logos for companies like Kellogg’s, are also in demand.

Two subsets of kitchenware are also noteworthy. The first is refrigerator ware, which includes stacking square Platonite storage containers, oblong covered butter dishes, and jars to catch and store drippings. Shakers are the second popular area. Most are round, ribbed, and sometimes decorated with stripes, while shakers designed for ranges and stoves made by Electrochef and Hot Point are square and flat-sided. In either case, designs on Hazel-Atlas shakers were sometimes created by Gay Fad Decorating Company, as well as Tipp City Novelty Company."

The lid opener is inverted so you can stack the dishes in the fridge.

I don't know how to edit the above. Your refrigerator jar could also be made by Anchor-Hocking. CW also has an article on Anchor-Hocking.

      My apologies - I got my A & H's and my H & A's mixed up.

thank you Gillian. how can i tell if it's vaseline glass or not? it sure does glow green!

definitely Hazel-Atlas uranium refrigerator dish, as it is green and glow brightly under black light. Vaseline glass is also uranium glass but is yellow.

Hazel atlas is right. You really need a blacklight to determine if its plain depression glass, vaseline glass or uranium glass.

TallCakes is correct. Vaseline glass is yellow. Anchor Hocking has an anchor it its logo I believe so it is Hazel-Atlas.

thanks TallCakes, robin56, and fortapache. there's a lot of mixed info about this online. wikipedia says that all uranium glass is called 'vaseline glass' by many people and i see other Hazel-Atlas pieces called vaseline as well. oh well...
