Japanese Black Lacquer and Gilt Ceramic Vase /12.5 " Marked "Made In Japan"/ Circa 20th Century

Kind of a dreary rainy day here thanks to Joaquin as it approaches the east coast of the U.S. So I stayed around town today. Picked this nice vase up from the Goodwill in Oberlin. It's fairly large (12.5") and made of a heavy grey ceramic. The black lacquer finish has an attractive gilt design of a bird among plum blossom branches. The bottom has a stamped "made in Japan" mark so it probably dates from the 40's. Not too bad for a few dollars. -Mike-
