Phoenicia marked on base Malta glass bird in pink mixed colour stripes splotches. Vintage era Phoenician glass ornament from Malta formed as a bird, It stands 3.5" tall and has an etched makers mark on the base Phoenician or Phoenicia with a small trademark underneath. There no issues of damage or restoration.
Colours are mixed pinkish, then white splotches, coloured stripes and other coloured dots.
Love it. I just saw one of these. The design was the same but no signature and I believe the bottom had a pontil mark. I didn't get it because I was thinking these came in twos as I had recently seen a pair and right after that someone listed a pair. Does this normally come in a pair or is that a different maker?
No idea, purchased in a UK boot sale today.
Sue I don't think Phoenecian necessarily made these as a pair. They are made on Malta and probs find their way back as tourist pieces, so buying one or two would be the option.
Hmmm. I looked at a few peoples posts that I thought listed 2, but couldn't find it. When the other did post, I looked at that specific site and they did come as a pair. Possibly came single too. This, I don't think is the same maker but the end result is sure similar. I should have gotten the blue one I saw. Oh well, they come and they go!
