What would help to understand this post, and the area in question, would be to read my previous post in its entirety. Pic one above has a collection of arrowheads and spear points, which since there is no flint in Florida, the north Fl. Indians traded with Indians from Georgia and the Carolina's to get these items. All you see here is a minimum of 500 years old and possibly close to a thousand years old.

In the center of pic one and alone in pic three is a portion of an interesting stone tool or stone carving found near my house here in burial mounds. Also probably the most interesting of all the artifacts I have is the remains of two pipes that were evidently traded to the Indians here but clearly show a designers initial of a "W" or an "M" depending on which way you look at it. The pipe piece on the right in pic 4 shows clearly on its left side, the beginnings of the bowl from this old pipe. These pipe pieces were also found in a burial mound I excavated at age 12 along with pieces of ornate pottery pieces and stone tools and weapons.

When I was little, I was a regular "Little Indiana Jones" right down to the whip, the hat and the snakes, way before any movie about that came out. This was my life at the time. Anything like this. along with anything Egypt or Mayan or Aztec was exactly where I was coming from at that point in my life. Looking at this stuff pictured may not mean squat to most of you, but this was my life at the time. I could definitely tell you some stories about my childhood, right on up to my teenage years when I forsook all to take up the sport of surfing. And then the saga continued. The only problem about age 14 to 28 is, about half of it, I can't repeat. Oh well...

I really like your collection. I love arrowhead hunting. It's one of my passions. I can go out hunting for hours and I've always been like this since I was a little girl. Looking forward to seeing more post of your collection.

Thank you YardSaleMama for your kind words. They mean more than you know. I just joined this site a month or so ago and have gone absolutely crazy. A span of 25+ years of collecting has almost gotten to the point of possibly going the other way, and think maybe I should start to get rid of things that don't classify as "family heirlooms". But even though I think about it from time to time, I'm fairly certain that would never happen. So I guess I'll just stick the 3 kids with all this when I die 25-30 years from now. Thanks again for taking the time to look and for for your kind comment. You have some really neat stuff too. Keep them coming!

I was know as the just plain "Indian Boy" loved getting out in tobacco fields after they were plowed, hunting relics. Found many arrowheads and one very large spear head. That was a lot of fun. If you look at pic 4 closely the M or W
appears to be an overlayed MW where half of the each letter is used. Very nice collection

Thank you Andy for the complement and the comment. I look back at this time in my life with many fond memories. Still kinda wished I had become an "archeologist". Carefully digging and sifting through these highly significant areas , and very important periods of history, all the while attempting to rescue a little of early native America, has always brought me a great deal of pleasure. To not only my yesteryear's, but has also sustained a love I have long had with the past... Bottom line is, I grew up during a great period of time, and at a great place for those that love this type of discovery. To borrow from a past quote by someone, "It just don't get any better than this".

I'm glad that there are alot of people out there like the folks on collectors weekly.
Nothing wrong with holding on to a piece of the past. Since I've gotten involved with the trunks and other things, my kids have taken an interest, makes me feel goooood!

My kids think it's cool that I'm into my coins and antiques and such, but as far as them showing any interest in the same, well, that's wishful thinking at best. If it has to do with skateboarding, surfing or girls, that's where they're at. At age 15 & 13 which are my two boys ages, they could care less about anything else. When I was their age, I liked those three things too. It's just my interests were a little more diverse. But they're good kids and stay outta trouble, and that's my main interest right now.

Very interesting to me especially since Native American is part of my ancestry. Bahamaboy, correct me if I am wrong, I think you mentioned in a post you did construction. Hope you do not mind me asking, Do you own your own business? If you do very cool. I own a lanscaping business and I have met a lot of other business owners here. I always enjoy meeting other business owners. If you are not a business owner, I still enjoy chatting with you just the same.

Yes I'm a general contractor, for whatever that's worth these days. I started my own business back in 1984 buying rental property and buying and building and selling of homes and apartment buildings. Then I was coaxed into shutting down and briefly left to go to work with Americas largest home-builder, D.R. Horton but worked for them for only three years (2003-2006) only after they made me an offer I couldn't refuse to take down my shingle and go to work for them. Got well on up into 6 figures with bonuses, running their warranty dept for N.E. Fl only to be let go when housing started to head south. They started getting rid of their highest paid employees and since that was me, I was gone. So I have spent the last few years getting my own business back up and running, with which with an economy like we're in, it's been one rough row to hoe. But I work when I want to, for who I want to, and do what I want to, so I guess that's not all bad. I'm as happy as I've ever been. I don't think I'd trade my life for anyone's life I know at present. And on the subject of these artifacts, these Indians were the other Florida tribe with the Seminole Indians of south Fl being the larger one. The Timucuans died out through all the disease brought over by the Spanish & French. Kinda sad, as they were a thriving group from around 1000 to the late 1500's. Take care and thanks for the comment.

Kerry, you hang in there my friend hopefully things will get better soon. Times are tough for a lot of businesses. It is very hard to work for someone else once you have been self-employed. It would be very hard for me to work for someone else after being in business for 15 years. But I like you enjoy being able to be more flexible with my time since I am self employed.
Thanks for the additional info. on the artifacts. Glad to learn that info. . On another note, pretty cool, two Kerry's on CW.

Thanks for the encouraging words. I'm done with corporate America. Never again will I go to work for a company. They care not about anything but their bottom line.
