If you check out the list of my other (22) items you'll see that I was able to buy a gorgeous 1906 (blue/yellow & white) Villeroy & Bosc Mettlach Art Nouveau vase about 3 years ago. However, this week I was fortunate enough to find another variant in oxblood red/green & white that's most probably even rarer! Aside from the colors and 1904 date stamp it's identical to the other one, but I love this one even more (although that may be because it's "new" to the collection......).

After buying the first one I wrote to the V/B museum in Germany to confirm authenticity because it looked brand new, and they assured me that this design was never reproduced (I copied & pasted their letter in that other listing). Oddly enough though, they said that this particular design first appeared in the 1905 V/B catalog, while THIS red variant is dated 1904!
Don't know if that's at all significant, but just thought I'd mention it.
    Thanks for looking!

Can I just ask about the dating code ... how is the 1904 indicated?

On the right hand side of the bottom is "04". It can clearly be seen in another close-up scan of just the (white) bottom, but I chose this smaller scan because it shows the bottom flanked by its background colors.
