Hi ravenmoon... lovely trunk you have... must have missed it along the way. You have a dome top cross slat trunk from around the late 1890's to early 1900's. Seems to be a standard style - type for its time. Of course someone tole painted it along the way. Originally it would have had a brown canvas or tin covering with black tin trim. Many makers at the time made this type of trunk and most did not put their labels on them... so without a label it very hard to know who would have made yours. They were made for storage or travel or both. The hardware (locks and latches) were purchased from an independent manufacturer and placed on your trunk. Enjoy!!
