Never did figure this out. Standing up Fish with swirly glass base. About 12 inches tall. The bottom is hollow, and looks like it *might* have sat on top of something else at one time, as there are some nicks on the *inside* edge when one would expect there to be IF being remove/put back on top of something else and you ding the edges..... *maybe* this was part of a feature of something like a fountain. Deano Fish post inspired me to post this Unknown Piece. I do not think it is Murano ( I could be wrong) as it looks Nice......

He is pretty -- but he Did get away......LOL. Thanks

    ~ Rose ~

    ==================================

[Question:] Why does CW always re-categorize Fish to Animals?? FISH are not animals, they are mammals.......?? Plus Fish/mammals is not listed under the animals Sub Category...? Maybe it can be added ???

It's a fine looking fish in any case. Did you insert matching borders for your photos?, cuz they look fabulous! I looked at the base shot, which is not as good as looking at the base in person. It could be that they had a bad pontil connection, and when it broke out, they had to do a lot of grinding to get it cleaned up. I can't imagine what this might have been a part of previously. The base part is very nice and looks like it belongs with the fish, but not neccesarily with something else. Just my 2 cents.

darling this is fabulous , and beautiful , heres a tip darling just take the phone out of the posting. it doesn't need to be in there, :)

LOL....I use the phone to give a size comparison....as the phone is about 6 inches tall. Comparison can make the world of difference when it comes to the visual description (with our eyes) as to what we see, or think we see....LOL

darling use a "DECORATIVE ITEM" to use for size and to go with the post of the same or goes with the era!! the phone hhhhhhhhhhmmmmmmmm , I don't know , not right. just a tip. LOL!!

Gotcha Sean.....Just when you put a decorative item in a pic, I have No idea how Big that decorative item is. Most people kinda know the size of cordless phone. I prefer to use something people can relate to for size as a relatively well known item We See Everyday....(eg), an apple, a can of pop....etc......a cordless phone

So I use a cordless phone. It is just more straight and stands well. I guess each to their own.........no problem

      Your very welcome honey!!
    8. SEAN68 SEAN68, 9 years ago
that when you type in the size of the item that your posting.............
    9. antiquerose antiquerose, 9 years ago
LOL....your right, but some people still can't think how big 12 inches is for like this Fish. No problems......

~ I think the MIND and the EYES sometimes do not figure things out when it comes to words for Sized..........as Visual height sometimes helps more description.

One time I bought something on-line and it looked so big due to the close beautiful pics. I read the description, but my eyes and Brain thought/saw differently. When I got it -- I loved it -- but it was half the size I thought it was, even after reading all the Description.

~ ~ So I guess moral of the story is "Live and Learn".......LOL....and I just found out the hard way.

      ;-)

Rose this might (might) be Japanese - Marti Glass did some similar.

Now girl, you listen to Sean, our very own style king! The phone is too ordinary and ugly for your wonderful things! Try a Lego man or something we all know!
(NB. I'm full of good advice, just don't do it myself....)

I love this guy Rosie!! I've never seen such an elaborate base on this type of piece! I don't know about it being Murano, but the quality is undoubtedly on a par with theirs!

BTW... I get it with the phone... I've seen coke cans, apples and beer bottles, always something that any of us can relate to for a size comparison. Maybe a ruler next time... lol!

@RICK55 -- Thanks for the comments!! Yes kinda different. Have not ran across anything like it. I think KAREN may have a lead as Japanese Art Glass. Also yeah -- I like to put something the *same* in my pics as people then kinda get to know ( like a ruler) the size -- as we can relate to a known identifiable item. I have used a Ruler in my Rosenthat Large Vase post.....LOL
