This is a Remington typewriter although Remington was embarrassed to put their name on it. I don't know why as it seems quite clever to me. It is the minimal typewriter and uses the fewest amount of keys possible.
There are only four keys for numbers. 6, 7, 8 and 9 are lower case. 2, 3, 4 and 5 are upper case ie use the shift key. Zero uses the upper case O and one is the lower case L. There is no carriage return key that has to be done by hand. Probably done to reduce price rather than weight.
These were made from October 1937 - January 1938.
In the first photo the extra ribbon which is black and red. Still in the original wrapper.
Photos were taken from the inside of Wigwam of the historic Route 66 Wigwam Motel in Rialto.
