This item came as part of a mixed lot purchased at a local auction. Research on the internet describes similar articles as Chinese porcelain plate/food warmers. They are hollow plates with an opening for hot water to be poured in. It is octagonal in shape and measures approx. 10" across, not including the handles. Each small handle has a hole through it for a lid perhaps or a carrying cord? I found an identical piece currently being offered for sale on E Bay as a genuine antique from the 18th or 19th century for $199. The base of both mine and the one for sale shows little sign of wear inconsistent with something of that age. Is there anyone who can enlighten me as to age, region of manufacture or any other information please. Thank you in anticipation.
It's not old, sorry. I had some of this type, but just look at the motif carefully, it's printed.
