The overall size is 18" x 18". The height of the king is 5" tall. It is all wood with two drawers on the side to house the pieces. Brass hinges and handles. This was purchased in an Antique store in Florida at least 25-30 years ago. The pieces are hand-carved.
It seems to be quite common one to find I saw several .

I tried to contact the poster of this set above (antique Chinese hand carved) a few years back but never got a reply.
I definitely recognize this set as the one given to me when I was about 12 by my dad (late 1970s) while living in Ormond Beach, Florida. I can see the details that make it recognizable, as I used it a lot.
I loved this set and had it until I was about 17 when I pawned it to pay for a car repair. My dad was very upset and when I went to get it back it later it had been sold.
I actually would love to get it back if you ever want to sell it.
