My Murano Heron. Has a sticker on the side that has been described as both Generic Murano and Archimedes Seguso, could be why the initials AS are on the label. I don't know who's right on the sticker interpretation, so I'm not sure what it is, other than a beautiful Murano Vaseline Heron.
12" Tall.
Adorable! Is it signed anywhere? I had a piece signed by Archimedes Seguso.
Thanks Efesgirl. Not signed. Thank you for the compliment.
Man that glow!!
Love this Dean - talk about sticking your neck out.
Thank you Racer for the "Love it" click. I got lucky with this one, I didn't buy it as a vaseline piece, figured it out by accident. lol. Thanks for the nice comment.

Hi Deano -- Nice Find with Label and Glows.
As for the label I have seen them with difference initials on them, and made that same query here on CW ( and other form) a while back. Here is the link where I posted that same Question:
http://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/144308-murano-art-glass-bowl--with-label?in=collection-4063
I will quote myself from there about the Rooster label with different initials on it:
""""I have always wondered about this label. These have been seen on Cenedese, Galliano Ferro, Venini, and even Barovier pieces. It appears to be an *Import label*.
Also on these labels there are always a couple smaller letters (initials?) on them such as: *AS*, *AF*, *AQ* (etc). I have always wondered what those smaller letters mean and IF they have any significance at all to the maker or anything for the piece. Mine here has a *AS* on it just before the M on the label. Anyone know IF these initials mean anything??
Known Murano (rooster) labels like this have been seen along with Galliano Ferro labels on pieces....""""
I was never advised from Professional Glass people IF it did .... as they felt it was just an Import label -- but I still Kinda wonder if the small initials meant anything. So I do not know...
Nice one Deano

This is one beautiful bird Deano! And to find it's Vaseline... you must have been thrilled! As far as the label... it's not one of the known Seguso labels, so I doubt it's by him. As well known as his pieces are, I'm sure one of thesm would have come up before. I searched my Seguso reference book, but could not find an example. As Rose mentioned, she's seen this on pieces from many different makers, so it very well could be an importers label, but that's only a guess. Regardless, it's a great piece!!

Thanks to Rick. Glad you like the Heron. I guess this piece is in the same category as a J.I.Co piece, which is Murano, but the trail ends there.
I just found this reference Deano turns out that it's a generic Murano label. http://www.20thcenturyglass.com/glass_encyclopedia/glass_labels/glass_labels.htm
Thanks Rick. The basic label is the same, Mine has an AS on it, the one shown has an AF on it. Must be the same.
Love this piece!
Thank you Courtenay. It was a great piece, then I hit it with a UV flashlight and whoa! Didn't expect that. Thanks.
