Seen this lot yesterday on my way to a job but didn't have time to stop. Odd looking small vase with flattened sides to the top and some other items. No idea what they are or by who. We're these types of things made purely for decoration or did they have a purpose?

The one on the right is probably Murano and a bargain at that price. The other two are baskets and are collectible though not to my taste ... perhaps Czech.

Hi vetraio50. So the baskets, are they just for decoration or do they have a purpose?

Just hot work decorative glass .... I have a couple by my favourite Czech company. They may have been used for holding sweets. There was a taste for highly worked glass that endured into the mid century. The Murano vase is a sommerso piece and I suspect it might be reactive to black light. I like the way it has been cut at the top. Seguso is a possible maker .
