Antiques if only they could talk. When I buy a piece I like to look up the history of the item but with these two items I cannot find anything or else I just do not know where to look. The cooker has EDW Katzinger Co Economy #10 from Chicago on the top. All I found was this. In 1888, Austrian-born Edward Katzinger formed Edward Katzinger Co., which manufactured tin pans for bakeries. In 1923, the company built a large new factory on Chicago's Northwest Side. In 1945, led by Arthur Katzinger, a son of the founder, the company began to sell stock to the public and changed its name to the Ekco Products Co. But I can't find any images like the above.
The buffet that I bought at action said that it was made in the late 1800's and the wood is cherry? Don't know about that. It is a very heavy piece that sets on eight legs so I can't pick it up to see if there is anything on the bottom.
Can anyone shed some light on the two items above.
