In my last post I spoke about my hope that the vase was Mandarin Orange. While awaiting its arrival, I sent off a photo to see if Mr. Lotton would confirm if it was in fact orange. He said that no, it was red and just looks that way in the photo. He added that he had never made a Mandarin orange piece. In the book, "Lotton Glass - The Legacy", I found several examples and referred him to these. He agreed that yes two of them were Mandarin orange, but the others were red with blown out colors. I asked, and he agreed to make me one. He ended up making two, and I was so torn with which one to get that I bought them both. This one is decorated with silver and black Wisteria, a silver aventurine rim and measures 5 1/2". Although larger than the minis I've recently purchased, it's still small enough to fit between my others. The coolest thing is this past week I received a letter from them which talks about the process and how super rare these are. I was so impressed they would take out the time to do this! I'm posting a link to the letter below. As always, thanks for looking.
This is the link to the letter they sent me. http://postimg.org/image/aq67bea0h/

Thanks for the comment and quick love Sean, and thanks for the love Swfinluv.
anytime Rick!!! :) and your very welcome Rick!!
Rick, you have some of the greatest glass stories...and genuinely gorgeous pieces of glass to go along with them. I like that you didn't even try to choose but said 'yes, please' to both.
They're both stunning and the letter is a wonderful way to commemorate the creation of two works of art.
All I can say is Yowsa!
