I received this from my Great Aunt who was born in 1912. She remembers the chair being in her grandmother's home in south New Jersey.
It is small. 38.25" height overall. 15.25" seat height. Seat is 16" wide and 13" deep.
I have included a detail of the legs as it appears that there were originally nails used and screws have been added.
There is one front rung below the seat that is missing.
I am not a wood worker but have been told by a friend that they thought it was made of cherry wood.
I would love to hear any information about this chair; it's authenticity, production or not, cultural significance, usage and/or historic value.
