The closest pic I could find to this trunk was a Martin Mair Saratoga Bride trunk? Any help anyone here could give me would be greatly appreciated. And best internet resource as far as those interested in purchasing trunks?

    Thanks all! Rick

The back hinge may tell us if it is a Maier trunk... there are also indications that it could be a Romadka Brothers trunk as I have similar slat clamps on one of mine. Unique trunk for sure and high quality..

The back hinge could tell more...It would be nice to see better pictures of it from the back and maybe catch a patent date. However The front corner hinge lid guides appear to be J.H. Sessions hardware N0.555 ---No.O.E. 1/2 as shown in the catalog photos that Jim Cardoza(HMS trunks) was so generous to post to this site a while back(Post # 324). However, keep in mind that many manufacturers used hardware that was available during the time period. Without a label it is more speculation on manufacturer .Unless You find patent dates on hardware that would be exclusive to a particular manufacturer(I.E. Martin Maier) otherwise it's just guessing, Thanks for the post .Much luck

Wow, great helpful info, I will take more pics. it belonged to my dad's great aunt and she was from New York state. unfortunately, my mom had it "restored" in the 80's by a fellow who was a jack of all trades, so the cheap golf leaf paint he used on the hinges needs to be stripped, BUT i know to let a pro do that this time! and the "wallpaper" interior lining job ... no comment! I am trying to identify buyer so want to be sure i can talk intelligently related to the manufacturer, etc. sounds like it could possibly be worth something, especially after restored properly.

thx so much, more to come!
