Dear all, this one has absolutely stumped me and would appreciate any opinions on my following comments.
I can't quite work out if this vase/ vessel (bulb shape with very small neck and top opening) is Chinese or perhaps Persian origin, or perhaps a Slavic country's version of eastern art?
It stands about 10" and is quite heavy. Four Phoenix raised in gold on black background are displayed around the vase in conjunction with grape vine and grapes. The neck of the vessel is very intricate and appears to be tiny stones and hand paintings. The entire background is what looks to be a mosaic of stone or crystal rock varying from clear to pink to very dark pink.
Hope you like it anyway. X

This is a beautiful vase Lulu :).... I collect Nippon and most of it has this same type of heavy raised enamel decoration called "moriage". I have to say the bumpy background surface is unusual. Are there any marks on the bottom ? I would say it's Japanese Nippon or at least a close version from another Asian country. -Mike-

Thank you for your comments Mike, a small mark on base but I'm not sure if it is actually an artist mark. Also at the neck looking in, rings (not painted) are impressed. I might be able to upload a photo of base and top opening if you don't mind having a look. :)

Thank you racer4four, for comment and luv, just had hoped some one may recognize the style. Its very busy and I have never seen the grapes and vine associated with rising phoenix before. Oh well back to my research ... X
