The PBR or Patrol Boat River was part of the brown river navy. Based a commercial pleasure boat. This is the Mk 2 which had a 32' hull made of fiberglass. It had water jet engines such that there were no propellers to get fouled.
This one depicts one with dual .50 caliber machine guns up front and a single .50 aft. It had a crew of four, a coxswain, gunners mate, engineer (also one of the gunners) and a commander. The commander was usually an ensign. The commander here is the one loading an M79 grenade launcher between two metal shields.
Many extras to see on this model although in reality it would have more ammo cans. As many as possible without sinking. Sadly it lost its radar in a firefight.
Very cool!!!
Same one as in the Film with Marlon Brando and Martin Sheen. Ohhh whats the name, pausing to ask my mate Google....Apocalypse Now !

Great boat -- immediately reminded me of the Rob White novel "Torpedo Run" that featured a PT boat similar to this...
Thank you very much trunkman. A PT boat in this scale would be quite cool.

I love it . I have a friend who was on night guard on one of these. He said it was pitch black out when he heard something at the front of the boat, so he opened up and ripped the front up with the 50 cal machine gun. They didn't find anything and he was in big trouble.
Thank you very much dlpetersen. Seems like finding something and not firing would have been worse.
"Never get out of the boat. Absolutely goddamn right. Unless you were goin' all the way. Kurtz got off the boat. He split from the whole f***in' program." Line from Apocalypse Now, great model!!
Thank you very much Lata. This is indeed the type of boat from Apocalypse Now and was good advice.
Thank you
