    These have been in my wife's family for years. We keep them displayed on our pot shelves. I would never sell them, well as long as I want a wife anyways. The base is made of some sort of stone they are heavy. I guess my question would be is are they the real thing. I have never seen these with lamps on them. we don't display them with the lamps. and we are missing the shades to them. Any info would be great. the one is missing the rains.

      These are beautiful, don't know their authenticity though.
      Here is about the originals, known as "chevaux de Marly" (they were on Place de la Concorde in Paris), You'll have to use the translator :-)

      They are commonly called Marly horses in English also. Often these were sold as smaller statues and in pairs, but not usually with this heavy base. They are heavily reproducted but still a favourite to statue collectors. The quality varies heavily and the better the piece the higher they go for, here is a nicely detailed pair :
