I usually steer clear of our local Goodwill because the shelves are always pretty much bare. It seems like they hardly get any donations except for clothes or process anything and put it out. Still, every once and a while I'm surprised that I do find nice things when I go. All three of these paperweights were sitting together. Sort of a ready made zoo. There's a large heavy green snail with gold aventurine flecks through his shell. An amber reindeer with white speckles across his back. and a little zebra with his stripes and white body encased in clear glass. None are signed or labeled but the reindeer had a trace of label glue on his flank. The only flaw is a tiny flake chip to the reindeer's base. Not even visible really. The others are damage free. Amazing considering all the little horns, ears and tails. -Mike-
Awww. aren't they cute!
Thanks Bonnie :).....I'm hoping one or all of these are Murano. I found them all online and Ebay but the zebra is the only one that was being described as Murano Sommerso glass.
I think these are great Mike. ......good one Goodwill!
Thanks Karen....got them all for just under a ten spot. I love ready made collections :)
Very Nice Mike.....Are all the bases mat? Looks like in the pics, so they might be Chinese.
~ So You have a Reindeer, a Zebra, and a Snail? Correct? Will look around ....
;-)
Thanks Rose :)....yes,unfortunately they are all matte...oh poo...not the dreaded "China Syndrome"...lol.
That does not matter. Mike!! It is what you like and how they display in your home.
You can start your own little Zoo there.
Btw Rose.... the lighter site is awesome. I have a few and I already found my Ronson silver plate crown lighter's date ...1936 !
@MIKE -- Yeah, I was just looking through that Lighter Site too that I posted over here on this post

There you go MIKE -- Now we will get you posting some of your Lighters too here on CW !!
I don't have many but my Crown is 1936 which was part of a set. Minus the tray and cigarette holder, My Evans is a 1940's Spitfire, and my faux alligator skin Champ is 1950's. I'll have to post them as a group some time. :)
Cool trio Mike. The matte finish and the white ring on the base of the Zebra point to Chinese. Regardless, they make a nice set...
Thanks Rick :)......they are pretty nice regardless. I think the snail is the best. The other two not so much, but what the heck the price was right !
I have the same reindeer mikelv85. It is clear with red streaks going through it, and very close in form and shape if not exact. 6 more and Santa's stylin.
Thanks for the nice comment and "love" Collector...you have a lot of wonderful pieces too. I love everything Asian myself !
