At just under 9" x 6" this would require a rather large pocket. But at least one did not need a donkey to carry it.
These were made from 1907-1915. This one has last patent date of 1909 so this one is from 1909 to 1915 making it an antique even for purists.
I imagine this was the point and shoot camera of its day although it has several controls such as F stop and the bellows can be adjusted. It used Kodak 123 film which is scratched inside the lid.
The camera collapses for easy carrying in one's pocket. Should one have a foot long pocket.
What a very cool camera!! With smart phones today, cameras seem to be slowly becoming obsolete.
Your camera has a specific version of Kodak's ball bearing shutter (without the pneumatic shutter release tube) that started appearing on the No.4 sometime during mid-1913. It was listed in catalogues for $20.00. The overall front design changed in 1914.
There should be a serial number on the back of the folding stand ... what is the number? I assume it will be higher than 13,900. In total, about 28,000 were made during its run.
