Another mammoth piece from FTG Marti.
Lego lady again for scale. (She needs a name. Please help!)
This time my scales gave up after 5 kilos.
A very clever vase this with it's double sommerso. When you think that it was probably made within 2 decades of the Japanese art glass movement really starting you can see that skill developed quickly.
Lovely deep red, and the second layer with black mixed in is a really unusual feature. Lots of makers did sommerso but I don't think the idea of adding a colour mix like this was very common
The clear case is so thick! I still wonder how they manipulated the weight of these pieces as they made them.
A name for your Lego girl... Madame Butterfly from the Puccini's opera :-)
Big one, I wonder too how they blowed such heavy pieces!
The clear casing makes the piece though....probably better in real life too!
Karen, This too is incredible looking. Very very beautiful!!
Well she's with Marti glass so how about Marti...short for Martina..lol
Nice idea Kyra. Maybe Chouko meaning butterfly girl!
Thanks for the love.
Peggy and Scott...thanks.
It does look great in real life.
Marti. Could work Mike, wold have to be Maruti in Japanese!
Thanks.
Little Red Racer.

Another monumental beauty Karen! I love the angled view in pic two... it shows off the unique form!
