From the great box this pitcher came in I believe it dates from the 1960s.
I have not yet found who the artist was who made it but they would be well known, not just because the piece is special but also because it was sold by Wako.
Wako Tokyo is Japan's most prestigious department store and only high quality (and expensive) goods are sold there.
The bespoke box is made from covered plywood with a fitted satin inner...very luxe.
The pitcher itself is made from a gorgeous green glass absolutely covered in gold sheet except for the foot. The applied handle is just a gorgeous shape.
This pitcher couldn't be anything but Japanese. Sumptuous.
