Hi CW friends. My apologies for posting and running lately...I've been so busy I almost don't know which way to turn next, but I can tell you I miss all of you very much.
Here's a ring my mother gave me that I believe was my great grandfathers ring and i know many of you really know the old old jewelry. This one looks to be hand made as you can see the setting around this amazing ruby is quite uneven. And look at the last photo...I swear it was the strangest thing, it almost looked as if my g-g pa was looking at me thru the lens!
This ring is heavy at 8.9 grams and fits my index finger. Although I'm really afraid to wear it much. I have a bad habit of digging in the dirt, planting, turning etc... the Native American side of me always finds solace there, allowing me to sort out life in general.
Anyway, I wanted to share this with you and I also noticed that there is a hallmark I've not seen before. It's either a "+14" or a...wait, it's not a plus at all, I just looked at it again (no wonder I couldn't find anything on a +14 (Doh) It looks almost like a tree or crown??? wow, I'm really puzzled now and not sure I can get a pic at the moment but I'll try. So say it's a leaf, then a line that seems to seperate the two symbols within the rectangle and then the 4. I'm now having a better thought that it may be from Poland...maybe Russia...and yes, I am what has been dubbed as a "heinz 57"!!! haha
So I won't mark this as unsolved yet, I'll see what I can find when I get the chance. I want to stick around tonite to see what I've been missing!!! I also have a few other things to share as well...I've been doin' the I spy thing myself and come up with some real beauties!
Here's a pic of the hallmark on the ring. Very hard to see but the pic on the left side of the 4 looks like it has 5 points altogether, almost like a crown at the top. I've taken a quick look for it but have no idea and could use a little help with that. Thanks.

Thanks Karen! Much appreciated. When that relative came here from Poland, I was told that he was a Court Translator. When asking my mom about it now, she looks at me like I'm nuts! Nothing new there though...hahaha I'll post a pic of him and my great grandmother.
