I know very little about this chest. I found it in an an alley sitting against a dumpster in Beverly Hills, California. I believe it is a Dresser Chest. It stands about 3 1/2 ' tall, & 2'X 2' wide. It has 4 special flat knobs on large hinges that are a type of stand at the bottom end so that it stands upright. There is only one large leather strap at the top end and three slip hinges in the front. The last slip hinge has a cover lock. It appears that the outside was antique finished a pinkish color because the bottom is a blackish color which I believe must have been the original. All of the corners brackets and hardware are of a heavy duty brass. The entire chest is studded with I believe metal or brass studs. The inside is remarkable. Standing upright, there are two sliding poles at the top end that allows a wooden hanger to slide back and forth for easy wardrobe access. The five dresser drawers all slide completely out and are covered in a beautiful pinkish parsley fabric, as is the entire interior. There is an interesting metal-pole-lock -system that holds all of the drawers in place when it is closed and locked. I am amazed by how well it was designed. Such nostalgic images come to mind of a wealthy celebrity whom might have taken this Dresser Chest on his or her elaborate travels. FEEL FREE TO TELL ME ANYTHING ABOUT THE YEAR OR MAKE OF THIS CHEST IF YOU RECOGNIZE IT'S STYLE.
    Thank you.

Nice wardrobe trunk! It's made of "Vulcanized Fiber" and would be from the 1930's to 1940's. These were very popular during that period of time. But, they are considered impractical by today's standards.
They typically contained clothing hangers and a set of drawers on the other side. One of the drawers typically contained a hat pin cushion to store your hat while traveling, usually by rail.
      Hope this helps a little!
