This was in my mother's estate and I had never seen it before. She loved to tag sale shop - so who knows where it came from. I have seen cheaper looking ones online saying made from original. I would love to know the history of the piece.
Have you checked for a silver mark anywhere, or a stamp of some kind? It's a very lovely piece - I really like the way the poppy foliage, and the poppy seed head has been wound around and integrated into the finished piece. The chain looks to be in the right period.
Is it a heavy piece?
Is it really a mermaid? I'm not sure at all.
Here's a copy I found on Pinterest. There is a crystal dangle attached to the arm:

Take it to a shop that tests jewelry and see if it is a precious metal or just a base metal. That flat design chain looks a bit iffy to me, and the rings on either side are different sizes.
It looks art deco
The ONLY 925 I can find is on the clasp. I cannot locate any mark on the "pendant." It weighs 21g and the chain seems super light and fragile. The rings attaching the mermaid/nymph? to the chain do look more the same size in person (they don't in the picture) and they appear soldiered closed. The smaller rings on side of clasp appear soldiered closed too.
