This ring has just back from the jewellers for resizing, unfortunately he decided to give it a clean, so it now has the bling factor. I have another moss agate Mumford ring on one of my other post which is very similar to this ring. I think this ring was a earlier Mumford piece made in the 1950s. The ring has a large Amethyst stone with typical serragated Mumford bezel. Surrounding the stone are decorative swirls, leaves and flowers. From the back the mount is concaved and you can see the round swirls, the ring is attached directly to both sides.

I hate it when a piece of jewelry is cleaned without my permission! Patina adds to the attraction of an older piece.

Uhh... He should have polished only the lower ring part where the solder is :-/
Patina will come back, but in lot of time! I read somewhere that if you hang it in your shower (higher possible...) the process will go faster :-)
Kyra's egg solution also works for restoring a patina.
