It gives us sooo much information to help research it, huh?
It may be 1880s, but that's all I could figure.

Might anyone know where it's from, when it's from, what it's for, and how common (rare, it seems, in this case) it is????

    Thanks. :)

      It is a token.

I found an online reference to a C.D. Brown Drug Store in Roxbury, Mass that dates from 1903. Nothing definite, but a good place to begin research.

      LOL, no, Efesgirl.

Scott Vez, thank you for that one. I hadn't seen that one but saw 5 other C. D. Browns from the Civil War to 1930s in businesses dealing liquor, food, soda-pop, and/or other items. The 1880s one looked more promising as the company had a token, but it wasn't this one.
They just gave so little to go on. You'd think they'd be kind enough to give us future researchers more info to go on. ;) LOL.

Good luck on the research and keep us posted with what you uncover.

Thanks, and I will if I get what feels like what may be the answer.

Efesgirl, yes, I take close-ups for extra detail.
