While doing some shooting the other day, I started thinking about the evolution of camera technology. Whether you make pictures with a smartphone, dig deeply into digital photography or play somewhere in between, the roots of today’s imaging DNA comes from the earliest cameras. All-in-all, the concept is unchanged. Light entering through a lens is projected onto image capturing material and then processed in some manner. That’s it. And we’ve come a long way!
Shown here side-by-side is over 160 years of photographic evolution. The rosewood veneered beauty next to the latest Nikon DSLR is an 1853-54 Palmer & Longking daguerreotype camera. Silver coated copper plates then and electrons now. Both can be considered state-of-the-art for their time.
But what a difference in user experience and results!
Anyhow I thought everyone would find this fun and interesting; especially if you’re getting a new smartphone or camera for a present.

Very Neat posting....evolution.....Wish you a Happy Holidays and I'll try and post the "Ball" watch later this afternoon
and on side note, when using either, my camera skills would remain constant.....very poor :-)
Kerry ... I'm looking forward to seeing a genuine Ball Standard watch! Have a great holiday.
