Beautiful Chatelaine Pencil Pendant in Rose Gold and Niello (blackened silver). The rose gold with this black silver color is a beautiful combination. Very nice not to act on a chatelaine in this modern era that was in the waist of the ladies but hanging on a chain.
It's including bail 3 inches (7.5 cm.) long. Not marked at all so my idea is dated around 1900 or do you have another idea?
Classy Chatelaine pencil -- as you are!! Merry Christmas and a happy New year !!
kerry10456, aura and Efesgirl thanks for looking and love.

Kavatinitz thanks for love and for interest on this first Christmas day.
I've seen this pattern on cigarette cases from around 1900. Have you checked the ring over closely to see if there is a small mark on the inside?
jscott0363 thanks for looking and love.
davey86 thanks for your advise. Yes you're right I think to see a mark on the ring (see image 4), but it's so tiny i can not decode i'm afraid.
That is also something I do not understand. In earlier centuries one had not yet such good tools like loeps, glasses, etc., and yet the marks were so incredibly small that we even can not unravel using these good tools.
Yes, it's amazing, isn't it! And even today there are craftsmen who are able to work on a r_e_a_l_l_y small scale; check out this gold and enamel manicure set set out on a ...... poppy seed!!: http://1drv.ms/1MEfyhA

kivatinitz, thanks for your compliment and love.
I have a similar niello pencil with stars instead of square pattern. Mine is marked with the french silver mark for small items – the boars head. I am quite convinced it is the same hallmark here.
