Here is another item I picked up at the auction. It looks to be done on some sort of paper. An interesting thing about this item is that it has what I would have to call a 3-D affect to it. It all depends on how the light hits it.
The background can go from bright gold-copper, to dull copper, to a brownish gray color. You look one way and the white on the birds feathers are a bright white and you look another way and the main white turns dull except for the white that goes into the other colors are highlighted along with the other colors on the bird. It's like looking at the same painting done in three different colors! Every item on this thing changes color! It also looks to have been painted in layers with the flower to the forefront.
The visible part of this item measures 11 1/2" long by 16" wide.
I'm guessing the writing on the side is Chinese? Another guess is the large darker script is the name of the item and the red script is the artist? (They also change color.) If your able to read this or know someone who can I sure would like to know what it says.
