Frame with great grandpa with bow tie pic

Hi,

recently bought this great framed picture in Barcelona, I find it very nice. The picture is from a man that died in 1936. I will respect this man and not look for information about him but I would love to have more information about the frame period and also very important if you could give me some hints on how to restore it. The frame is separating and I want to put the whole frame together. Thank you!
