I dug these up a few months ago (day before my 19th birthday.) I'd noticed these embossed metal milk-caps before but had not stopped to pick them up on the hillside outside of an old school turned Police Station. There are 3 different kinds and all from Sanitary Dairy of Muskegon, Michigan, thus telling me pre-1965 (it combined with another dairy that year.)
As for what I did with the better pieces/ones that aren't repeats:

Second pic. They all went onto milks.
Talking to others who know more on these than I is leading me to believe these are 1940s.
Happy New years Spiritbear. May your many years of collecting ahead of you be fruitfull. I like the way you get down n dirty. Some of our most valued finds will be found.....in the ground. Did you get a new bike yet ?
Thank you, and happy New Year to you also!
My best finds are from the ground.
No bike yet. Snow, anyway. I have a car now but like to be environmentally friendly.
They were used on the plastic gallon milk jugs and were used in the 1950's in Canada, possibly earlier in the states. RER
Interesting. Thank you.
