Under the direction of Julius Jelinek, the Harrach glassworks between 1900 and 1905 executed numerous designs in painted art nouveau glass. The gilt sunflower decoration was a common theme; the beautiful Hekla glass is much less common, with its bottom portion in green and liver-red opal, matt iridescent, underlaid in a yellow tinted glass with a thin opal lining. This example has streaks of red extending into the yellow section, giving it more of an orange hue.

This vase is 8" tall, and the shape, PN 1856, came in at least five other sizes ranging from 6" up to 18" tall. The design book drawing for this size indicates the Hekla decor right on the drawing. The second photo above is a scan from a period pattern chart* of various colored vessels that shows this exact shape and decor in the middle of the bottom row. The last photo shows a magnified portion of the chart identifying the decor, F3377. The chart dates to between 1900 and 1905. There are several examples of this decor in the Passau Glasmuseum.
