I inherited this 18 carat gold ring from a favorite aunt of mine a few years ago. I share it with you guys and especially with Efesgirl to show the special manner of sizing it: it has a small golden "ball" on the inside of the link to make its shank smaller.
Its pretty comfortable to wear though.
I think they did it because it was far more easy to add a small ball, if that meant they didn t have to resize the entire ring ;-)
This ring was made in Antwerp, by House Ruys, a well known jeweler that exists in Antwerp since 160 years.
This ring consists of 5 gold hoops, made into one ring by a link. The hoops are white gold, yellow gold and red gold.
Although this particular ring is modern, the idea of using different colors of gold in one jewel dates back to ancient times. In the thirties and fourties it was very common to use red, white, yellow and even green gold together. I love those times! :-)
GREAT NEW PIC TOO !!!
BONNE ANNÉE en een gezond, liefdevol en groen nieuw jaar gewenst !!!!
Very nice and interesting ring. I've never seen or heard of anything like this. Very cool! Happy New year to you and you family!!

Lovely new profile :-)
The ball is a good system for reducing rings size, far less destructive than others which leaves soldering reappear years later!
Bonne année !
A beautiful ring for any occasion.
Hey, thanks for the photos!! Such a beautiful ring. I'd be wearing it, too, if it were mine. I did wear mine for a few hour last night and have to say that it really comfy. I took no notice of the two silver balls.
Oh, nice to see you!
HAPPY 2016!
